Welcome to the E*CARE project website!

The "European Career for Researchers" project (acronym E*CARE) addresses the overall strategic objective of the 'PEOPLE' Specific Programme which is 'to make Europe more attractive to the best researchers'. Since launching the European Research Area (ERA) initiative in 2000, the EC has focused on the need to make mobility a central element throughout the different stages of the research career, and to create a more favourable environment for transnational and intersectorial mobility of researchers.

The EURAXESS Researchers in Motion is a European initiative serving the successful fulfilment of ERA's objectives in terms of improving the mobility conditions of researchers. It is a network of more than two hundred Service Centres located in 35 European countries. These Centres help researchers and their families to plan and organise their move to a foreign country. The free personalised assistance helps researchers to tackle issues such as accommodation, visa and work permits, language lessons, schools for children, social security and medical care. All members of the E*CARE consortium are members of the EURAXESS Services Network.

The E*CARE project's specific objective is to substantially contribute to 'the enhancement of the overall performance of the EURAXESS Services Network and stimulate cooperation between EURAXESS members on operational and strategic issues'. The activities planned focus on sharing good practices and improving the overall coherence and quality of services offered to researchers and their families. The E*CARE project seeks to  improve the collaboration among  Service Centres, strengthen their expertise and knowledge base, and raise their visibility at national and European level among a large number of stakeholders.

The E*CARE Consortium organised the project's Final Conference on 15-16 June 2011 in Plovdiv, BG. Look for the presentations at the News Section
